What is High-Definition Liposuction?

We’re certain you’re familiar with the traditional Liposuction procedure, but what is High-Definition (HD) Liposuction? This technique uses ultrasound to help melt away the fat to help you achieve a more defined and chiseled appearance. The latest trend in Body Sculpting is all about High-Definition Lipo. The combination of Liposuction fat removal with ultrasound assistance means that you can remove deeper layers of fat that don’t respond as well to traditional Liposuction, and will continue to reduce new fat even after the procedure

Some of the more common areas that High-Definition Liposuction can treat include the abdomen and waist, arms, buttocks, cheeks, hips/love handles, back and upper back rolls, inner and outer thighs, neck and chin, and knees.

VASER Ultrasonic System

At Landford Plastic Surgery, we have top-of-the-line devices to help our patients achieve their desired appearance. For Liposuction and other forms of Body Contouring, we use the minimally invasive VASER (vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance), a device that can treat many areas of the body. While VASER Liposuction is similar to traditional Liposuction, the biggest difference is that VASER allows for more precision in the fat removal process, rather than just bulk-removal of large fat deposits.

The VASER treatment utilizes powerful waves of ultrasound energy. This unique process disrupts the connection between your fatty tissue and the muscles underneath, without hurting the underlying healthy tissue. VASER provides patients with a more gentle experience, delivering dramatic results with minimal downtime.

What are the Benefits of High-Definition Liposuction?

What are the Steps of High-Definition Liposuction?

On the day of your procedure, you will be given anesthesia, which can be general, local anesthesia with sedation, or tumescent anesthesia only (a large volume of diluted local anesthesia). Dr. Landford will then make small incisions near the targeted areas. After injecting a tumescent solution into these areas, she will either begin with the VASER device to melt and loosen the fat followed by Liposuction or continue onto traditional Liposuction without VASER. Once Liposuction is complete, you’ll be placed in a compression garment, which helps you reduce swelling, minimize bruising, enhance contouring, prevent fluid collections, and improve healing, comfort, and pain. Dr. Landford uses the SAFE technique, a combination of Separation, Aspiration, and Fat equalization, in order to safely remove fat. After liposculpture, she may use energy-based skin tightening devices like Renuvion or BodyTite to tighten your skin. The timeframe of the procedure depends on the areas treated and the number of areas to be done.

What Does Lipo360 include?

Lipo360, also known as 360-degree Liposuction or Circumferential Liposuction, is a cosmetic procedure that targets fat removal and Body Contouring around the entire midsection, including the abdomen, waist, flanks (love handles), and back. In certain cases, bra-line liposuction is also included.

High-Definition Liposuction Recovery

First Week >> Swelling and bruising will likely be at their peak during the first few days after surgery. Pain and discomfort can be managed with prescribed medications. The compression garment will remain on for 24 hours daily. You will see Dr. Landford at your first postoperative appointment at 7 days where she will monitor your progress.

First Month >> Most of the swelling and bruising should have subsided by this point, though some residual swelling may persist. You can gradually resume light activity and exercise, but listen to your body and avoid overexertion. Once four weeks have passed, you should be able to get back to your normal exercise routine. The initial results of the Liposuction will become more apparent, but the final results will take several months to develop.

Long-term >> Over the next few months, you will continue to see improvements in your body contour as the residual swelling resolves and the tissues settle. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and exercise can truly enhance the results.

Note: Individual recovery experiences can vary, and it’s essential to follow your surgeon’s specific post-operative instructions for the best possible outcome.
